Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been athletic, competitive and heavily involved in sports. I started gymnastics when I was 3 years old and genuinely fell in love with the sport. I competed in National level gymnastics meets all across the U.S. until I was nearly 14 years old. That's where I truly started falling in love with training, calisthenics, challenging myself in the gym. However, there was a point where I was officially burned out on gymnastics and ready for a change. That's when I started playing club soccer.
At 14 years old, most coaches told me I would never earn a soccer scholarship, let alone play Division 1. Yet, in 2010, I earned a full ride scholarship to Morehead State University to play D1 soccer. From there, the weight room became my second home.
In high school, I started lifting weights for the first time. I was the only girl in the ALL-BOYS weight lifting class and very quickly I wanted to prove myself and perform like everyone else. From there, my desire to lift weights and become a strong, muscular, fierce female only grew.
In college, I practically lived in the weight room and set not only quite a few personal records but also became one of the strongest female athletes on campus.
Despite my dedication to weight lifting and strengthening my body, I experienced several injuries throughout my college playing career - 4 torn left ACLs and a torn right quad. In those moments of defeat, it would've been so easy to give up, to settle for sitting on the sidelines and let my playing career slip away. But that's not how I operate. Each season had its own unique trials and tribulations but it's how I responded that determined my success.
In 2021, after having my daughter Parker, I joined a gym out of Lexington, Kentucky and very quickly met some amazing friends. A few of them were in fact bodybuilders and encouraged me to try talking to some coaches and give it a shot.
So in 2022, I started working with my first coach and in 2023 I started my first prep for a show. That first prep was extremely tough, and the stage was not meant for me during that season of my life. I started working with a new coach in late 2023 and started a new prep in 2024. I finally stepped on stage in May 2024 and won overall first place in every category I entered and 2 PRO cards in both Figure and Wellness.
It's VERY exciting and rewarding to officially be a PRO bodybuilder, but this has only ignited my passion to share this lifestyle with you all. Bodybuilding isn't everything and it certainly isn't for everyone, but health and overall well-being is. And through my experiences, personal journey and growth, and love for fitness, I want to share that with you all, and I hope you will come along side me in your own journey. :)
